  • Arrive to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv at approximate 10:00am local time (7 hours ahead of Toronto)
  • Assistance upon arrival
  • Transfer to Jerusalem on luxury coach bus
  • From Tel Aviv: For those of you already in Tel Aviv, we ask that you meet us in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel at 7:45 am for 8:00 am sharp departure to Jerusalem
  • From Jerusalem: For those already in Jerusalem, we will meet you in the lobby of the David Citadel Hotel at 9:00 am
  • Meet our wonderful guide Ezra Eini
  • Enjoy the panoramic vista and spectacular views overlooking the holy city of Jerusalem from the Haas Promenade, as we recite the traditional ‘shehechiyanu’ blessing, the blessing of thanksgiving recited when one first arrives to Israel’s golden capital
  • Special welcome meeting with the Chief Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, who presides over the Western Wall plaza, and greets and escorts all visiting heads of state, foreign dignitaries, religious leaders, celebrities and politicians during their visit to the Wall
  • (*MODEST DRESS REQUIRED – no bare shoulders or exposed knees for women, pants are okay; no shorts for men)
  • Step back in time on a guided walking tour through the Western Wall Tunnels, as we explore the fascinating labyrinth of ancient underground passageways alongside the Western Wall
  • Spend some private time of reflection at the Western Wall (also known as the ‘Kotel or ‘Wailing Wall’), the most sacred place for the Jewish faith, with the opportunity to put the traditional note of prayer in the wall and to observe the pre-Sabbath rituals and energy
  • Experience Machane Yehuda on the eve of the Sabbath, the bustling, colourful and fragrant market known as ‘The Shuk’, and enjoy a light lunch from the any one of the variety of vendors
  • Drive through Mea She’arim, the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood where old traditional Jewish customs are authentically and strictly observed (if time will allow before the Shabbat or Sabbath)
  • Bus back to hotel with time to freshen up before dinner
  • Enjoy a delightful Shabbat Dinner, with our local hosts Chen and Alon

Saturday October 28th, 2017

  • Start the morning with the famous Israeli-style buffet breakfast
  • Take a walking tour through the cobblestone streets in the Old City of Jerusalem as we explore many Christian and Jewish heritage sites which may include:
  • Ramparts from Jaffa Gate
  • The Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross
  • Church of the Holy Sepulcher
  • Mt Zion and the room of the Last Supper
  • Dormition Abbey
  • Jewish Quarter
  • Light lunch at the Landwer Café in the First Station, the revitalized old train station with shops and restaurants
  • Optional tour to Bethlehem (*passport required)
  • Briefing with Ira Garshowitz, Israeli correspondent for the Nikkei Shinbum, the Japanese version of the Wall Street Journal and Khaled Abu Toameh, well-known Israeli Arab Journalist
  • Dinner at the charming and intimate Darna Moroccan restaurant

Sunday October 29th, 2017

  • Israeli Buffet Breakfast
  • Specially arranged early opening for a guided tour of Yad Vashem, Israel’s renowned museum of Holocaust remembrance including the Children’s Memorial
  • Solemn visit to the brand new National Remembrance Hall for Fallen Soldiers on Mount Herzl, the national cemetery, commemorating the over 23,000 lives lost in defending the State of Israel
  • Light lunch en route
  • Special meeting with the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat
  • Take a “hilltop tour” of Jerusalem’s seam line with Col (Ret.) Danny Tirza who planned and implemented the security fence between Israel and the West Bank, and the Sinai Peninsula
  • Dinner at Angelica Restaurant, with special guest speaker Mordechai Kedar, Israeli scholar and academic expert on Arabic culture

Monday October 30th, 2017

  • Early departure and checkout with luggage

Tuesday October 31th, 2017

  • Early morning sunrise hike along the crater rim

  • Travel north to the Dead Sea area, the lowest place on earth
  • Ascend the ancient fortress of Massada, King Herod’s mountaintop palace, by hiking up the Roman Ramp or by cable car, to tour the ruins and to hear the story of the Roman siege against the Israelites
  • Lunch and Swim at the Dead Sea, the most buoyant and mineral rich waters, including therapeutic mud and the famous Dead Sea Float (*water shoes recommended)
  • Stop at Qumran, and learn about where and how the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered
  • Arrive to picturesque Ramot Resort, overlooking the Sea of Galilee
  • Dinner at the hotel in the outdoor Chalet Bistro, with invited guests and entertainment

Thursday November 2nd, 2017

  • Checkout with luggage
  • Drive south to Tel Aviv for an exciting visit to Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), recognized as a world leader in developing both military and civilian aerospace technology
  • Light lunch en route
  • Special briefing with the Canadian Ambassador to Israel, Deborah Lyons, at the Official Residence
  • Visit to Save a Child’s Heart program at the Wolfson Medical Centre and learn about the lifesaving work being done in Israel to provide free pediatric cardiac care to children with heart defects from developing countries around the world
  • Check into the Tel Aviv Hilton, with short time to freshen up
  • Dinner at Claro restaurant with special guest speaker (speaker TBC)
  • Free time to explore the markets and stalls in the brand new spectacular indoor Sarona Market, in the newly redeveloped Templar area of Sarona, Tel Aviv.

  • Walking tour of the ancient port city of Jaffa, and charming Neve Tzedek, the first Jewish neighbourhood to be built outside the walls of Jaffa, including the Tachana, the restored train station complex filled with shops and cafes
  • End up at Nachalat Binyamin and Carmel Market
  • Light lunch in the market
  • Free time to roam the artisan vendors and shop for souvenirs at the outdoor Arts and Crafts pedestrian mall, which takes place only on Tuesday and Friday afternoons
  • Explore “White Tel Aviv” and the UNESCO World Heritage Bauhaus historical buildings on the walk back to the hotel
  • Return to Hotel to freshen up
  • Dinner at Kitchen Market, a contemporary and popular gourmet restaurant above the Shuk HaNamal Farmer’s Market at the Tel Aviv Port, overlooking the Mediterranean
